A window is any two comparable periods the cube has data for — quarter over quarter, week over week, or a custom date range on both sides.
Filters
Filters narrow the population before decomposition runs, for questions like "why did revenue drop in the enterprise segment." The engine still ranks every remaining dimension inside that scope.
